Kadri Jugandi and his design colleagues at Transparent House are passionate about lighting, and also, so it seems, about the humble cassette tape - a reminder of the heavy metal music days of the 90s.

Nostalgia aside, smaller dictaphone cassette tapes were used for the final construction of the Tape Lamp.  The tiny cassettes have been inserted into a clear laser-cut acrylic frame, to create the opaque illuminated patterns on the walls of the lamp.

The black tape in the cassettes can be wound back and forth to create different overall effects.
